This policy explains what personal information Optilis Electrical Services Pty Ltd ("Optilis", "we", "us") collects through this website and in providing our services, how we use it, and your choices. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

When you send an enquiry through our quote form, we collect the details you enter: your name, phone number, email address, the type of work, your suburb and your message. If you call or email us, we collect what you share in that conversation.

When we quote for or carry out work, we also collect the details needed to do the job, such as the property address, site access notes, photos of your electrical installation, and billing details.

We don’t ask for sensitive information, and we ask that you don’t include it in your message.

How we use it

• To respond to your enquiry, arrange an on-site visit and prepare your quote.
• To schedule, carry out and invoice work, and to issue compliance certificates.
• To meet our legal obligations, including NSW licensing, safety and record-keeping requirements.
• To follow up on quotes and jobs, and to understand how well our advertising works.

We don’t sell your personal information, and we won’t send you marketing emails unless you’ve agreed to receive them. You can opt out at any time.

Cookies and advertising

This website uses the Google tag (Google Ads) to measure how people find us and whether they get in touch, for example by submitting the quote form or tapping a phone number. This uses cookies and similar technology, and Google may use the data to show our ads to people who have visited this site.

You can control this through your browser’s cookie settings, or through Google’s Ad Settings. You can read how Google uses this information at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

The site also loads fonts from Google Fonts and an embedded map from OpenStreetMap. Those services receive your IP address when the page loads.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only where needed to run our business and deliver your job:

• Service providers who host our website and forms (Netlify), handle our email, and provide our accounting and advertising tools (including Google).
• Suppliers and manufacturers, such as battery and solar providers, where needed for product registration, warranties or rebates.
• Authorities and network operators, where the law or the work requires it, such as compliance certificates or grid connection applications.

Storage outside Australia

Some of our service providers, including Netlify and Google, store data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. We use reputable providers and take reasonable steps to make sure your information is protected.

Keeping it secure

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. We keep it only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires, then delete or de-identify it.

Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us using the details below. We’ll respond within 30 days.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we’ve handled your information, please contact us first and we’ll try to resolve it within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
